BRUCE

Joyce Eileen Bruce (née Grigg), aged 94 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Saturday, November 18th, 2017.  Joyce received her education in Tuxford, SK.  Her first job was at Joyner’s Department Store in Moose Jaw and she worked there until her marriage to Robert Bruce, at which time she was no longer able to be employed as she was now married.  Joyce kept busy with farm life and raising children.  She loved painting, camping, reading, and puzzles.  They travelled throughout Canada, to Alaska 3 times, as well as several trips to the United States.  Joyce loved sports, especially the Moose Jaw Warriors and Saskatchewan Roughriders, as well as curling.  She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; son, Alvin; son-in-law, John Riley; and sister, Beth Smart.  Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children: Lorraine Riley, David (Donna) Bruce, Russell (Terri) Bruce, Holly (Alan) Johnson, and Heather (Barry) Johnson; daughter-in-law, June Bruce; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.  Mother loved you all.  The family would like to thank Mo, Linda and Heather for the excellent care provided for Mom in the past years.  The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 27th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home.  Pastor Marvin Seaborg will officiate and interment will take place at St. Columba Cemetery at a later date.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in Joyce’s name may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert St, Regina, SKS5R 2N2.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
