It seems to me we all feel the pressure around this time of year
Labour Day has come and gone and we start shifting gears
The pace increases, the equipment changes and we turn our backs on summer
Vacation is taken - all fun has been had - It really is truly a bummer
It's back to school and back to work - set your goals and make your plan
We have teachers and bosses who need to be pleased by giving them all we can
The sundresses, shorts and t-shirts get a rest - same for sandals and bare feet
We'll need pants and coats, shoes, boots and socks to protect us from snow and the sleet
So, here we are - in the annual ritual of angst, concern, hustle and hurry
And I wonder now why the month of September brings us such worry
My experience tells me we have 4 to 6 weeks of nice weather ahead - I know it's not much
But the question, you see, in September for me is, "Why do we get in such a rush?"
