The big sign on the wall outside reads; STORE CLOSING. So, one is to assume there's a big sale inside. I dropped into Moose Jaw's Sears store yesterday. It was a mess. The staff? I could see the stress on their faces as they tried to keep up with bargain hunters.
The bargains? Not that great yesterday. Everything was 20% off. You get better deals when they have "Sears Days" sales.
As I looked through the goods that had already been picked over, I wondered if they'd be bringing in more stock. I'll bet they will.
I remember a friend talking about a local businessman who was going out of business 30 years ago. He just wanted to retire but his going out of business sale was seemingly endless. It went on for over 2 years. My friend asked him about that. His reply? He said "I've never come close to making the money I've made since announcing the clearance sale. I'm just gonna keep bringing in new stock and telling people it's all on sale."
You see what he did there?
