Local parents, teachers, and students learn to do's and don'ts of surfing the Internet focusing on cyber bullies and predators.

Whether they log on, sign in, or just link up do you know what your kids are doing on the Internet?

An expert in the field of online communication from the University of Regina, Dr. Alec Couros, treated local parents and teachers to an interactive presentation about Internet awareness, moral issues and more Thursday night in Moose Jaw.

Couros says when kids are communicating with others on social networks there are a few things they really need to know. "Who they're talking to, how old they are, and that people and adults lie. It’s a harsh reality but people will lie to you and they'll tell you things because they're trying to manipulate you. There are a lot of people out there that are looking for intimate conversations. They might not be out right pedophiles but they may act in ways that are very dangerous and very offensive."
