The cover photo for this story features a number of former Moose Jaw Warriors players.  From left to right, you see Russ West, Carter Smith, Troy Brouwer, Blair Jones, Riley Holzapfel and Dr. Brennen Wray.  Not all of these guys played together but, when they come back to Moose Jaw for the Warriors - MNP Alumni Golf Tournament, they're all brothers.

Former and current players come together at this tournament in an effort to raise money for the Warriors' education fund.  You see, every player earns scholarship money for every season played in the Western Hockey League.  Many make use of the foundation to further their education if they so choose.

Dr. Wray, for example, used his scholarship money to attend St. Francis Xavier University while continuing to play hockey for the X-Men.  He continued his studies following his hockey career and is now a practicing dentist in Alberta.

It was the first time we've been able to come together for the tournament in three years.  The COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions forced the cancellation of the event in 2020 and 2021.

Tournament organizers are confident this year's tournament raised in the neighbourhood of $100,000.00 but will confirm that and make a cheque presentation to the Warriors at a home game during the upcoming season.

Below, former Voice of the Warriors Rob Carnie with all-time Warriors leading scorer Theoren Fleury enjoy some time together at the Warriors - MNP Alumni Golf Tournament.
