Keeping warm over the holidays can be a struggle for those less fortunate than us, but a donation to Riverside Mission on Wednesday was a step towards helping out.

The Moose Jaw Shrine Club and Purposed Financial dropped off “warm up packages” to the Mission that included toques, mitts, coffee mugs and other items to help keep those at the shelter warm through the winter.

“We're so very blessed and I think I believe one of our roles in our life is to make a difference in the lives of the least of these. And we look at people every day, we don't know what they're going through. We don't know what their story is,” said Shriner and owner of Purposed Financial Aaron Ruston, explaining why they decided to get involved.

Riverside Mission is always looking for donations, especially during the holiday season, whether it is a monetary donation, food or clothing.

Ruston said we are fortunate to be a part of a very giving community.

“Look around us people. We are fortunate to be here today. As we're walking down the street and even going into 2022, just say a big hi and a big hello to people as you walk by them. It might shock them right into another parallel universe,” he said.
