Scott and Cathy Bradford have gone through a lot in recent years and now fundraisers are taking place to help them out.

Their youngest daughter Maren was diagnosed with Leigh's Disease in which there is no cure and ultimately the outcome will be tragic.

Scott was rushed to Regina last month where he had surgery to have a defibrillator implanted in his chest because of cardiomyopathy, which is most likely stress-induced.

Scott's dad Kelvin Bradford says the community has been very generous in helping his family. In just over a couple days over $11,000 has been raised.

"The support is unreal, I don't even know what to say. We're speechless, it's tragic we know that but this community is unreal. I don't even know what to say."

Bradford senior added that community organizations have helped.

"When Scott was in Regina the floor he was on was sponsored by Mosaic and the Kinsmen Foundation, two things that have been near and dear to his heart. I've been a Kinsmen since 1989 and I've met a lot of people through the community doing that kind of thing and those people made it possible for him to get the services he needed to even be here to get better."

A Go Fund Me page has been set up for Scott and Cathy as well as a rib night fundraiser will take place at the Crushed Can on April 30th.
