The Moose Jaw Warriors have announced four roster moves heading into the second week of preseason action. Tate Schofer has been assigned to the SJHL's Yorkton Terriers. Schofer had seven goals and 15 points in 96 games over two seasons with the Warriors. Three players were returned to their AAA teams including Aaron Sawatzky, William Degagne, and Carson Deichert. Sawatzky and Degagne each appeared in two preseason games with the Warriors, while Deichert suited up in one. The Warriors now have 27 players, including three goaltenders, seven defencemen and 17 forwards remaining with the team.

Moose Jaw returns to the ice this weekend for a pair of preseason games taking on the Wheat Kings on Friday in Brandon and then again Saturday at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Both games will be broadcast on Country 100.

Moose Jaw AAA Winmar Warriors kick off their preseason tonight at the Moose Jaw Events Centre taking on the Swift Current Legionnaires. Puck drop is at 7:15 p.m.

Moose Jaw Minor Hockey and Moose Jaw Transition House are offering a free event on September 24 for girls ages 4-12 to come out and give hockey a try. The event will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are busy preparing for Friday night's matchup against Edmonton at Mosaic Stadium. The Riders added four American players to their roster this week signing defensive linemen Brayden Thomas and Caleb Sanders, wide receiver John Ursua, and defensive back Tedric Thompson.

The Toronto Blue Jays struggles against Texas continued last night at Rogers Centre. The Jays dropped a 6-3 decision to the Rangers, who leapfrogged Toronto in the American League wild card standings. Toronto now sits tied with Seattle for the final wild card spot. The Jays and Rangers will play game three of their four-game set tonight. Texas has won the first two games of the series.
