What a great way to open a new Western Hockey League season - the Moose Jaw Warriors and Regina Pats - head-to-head, back-to-back - Friday in Regina and Saturday night in Moose Jaw.

The Warriors are inviting all fans to come out early for a pre-game party at 5:30 p.m. with Live music and great deals on burgers, hot dogs and sodas.

Game time, of course, is 7 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

We'll have all the live, play-by-play action all season long on Country 100 with the Voice of the Warriors James Gallo.

It’s an exciting year for the Moose Jaw Minor Hockey Association, celebrating 40 years in business.

“For our tier divisions this year we've approved a third retro throwback jersey I guess if you want to call it. That will be released here hopefully in October, and our tier teams will get a chance to wear this jersey at tournaments, at home games and that sort of thing. It's just going to pay homage to our 40 years as an association,” said president Chris Flanagan.

The hope is to host a major event for the 40th anniversary in either January, February, or March, but details will be released in the coming months.
