Only two days separate the Moose Jaw 18U AAA Canucks and their home opener in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League. It begins for real on Thursday for the Canucks as they welcome the Swift Current 57s to Ross Wells Park at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. 

The Moose Jaw U17 AA Ice take to the field for their season opener on Tuesday night in Regina. They will take on the Saints at 6:15 p.m. and the Storm at 8:15 p.m. 

What a start to the season at the Hillcrest Golf Club for Michael North. North finished his round on Monday with a hole-in-one on #18 using his 7 iron from the blue tees. 

It all gets going on Thursday for three Moose Jaw hockey products at the 2023 National Junior A Centennial Cup in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Caelan Fitzpatrick, Brydon Bell, and Kirk Mullen will all compete for Junior A supremacy. Bell will represent the Superior International Junior Hockey League with the Kam River Fighting Walleye, Fitzpatrick the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Brooks Bandits, and Mullen the Manitoba Junior Hockey League being a part of the Steinbach Pistons. 

Over to the Western Hockey League, the championship series has been set after the Seattle Thunderbirds took down the Kamloops Blazers on Monday 4-2 to win their series. The Thunderbirds will take on the Winnipeg ICE starting on Friday in the Manitoba capital. The winner will advance to the Memorial Cup in Kamloops later this month. 

It looks like Regina Pats star forward Connor Bedard will be going to Windy City, as the Chicago Blackhawks won the first overall pick in Monday's NHL Draft Lottery. 

Only one game in the NHL playoffs on Monday, the Edmonton Oilers fell 5-1 to Vegas in Game 3 of their second-round series.
