Moose Jaw's Caelan Fitzpatrick is returning to the community as a national champion. He and his Brooks Bandits took down Saskatchewan's Battlefords North Stars 4-0 in the Centennial Cup final on Sunday to win their third straight national championship. Fitzpatrick finished the tournament with two goals and four assists in six games. 

Continuing with hockey, leading up to the World Para Ice Hockey Championship that kicks off on Sunday, a pre-tournament match-up will take place on Tuesday between Canada and Korea at 3:00 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

Over to volleyball, the Golden Ticket's 18U men's squad was able to strike gold in their tier at Nationals over the weekend. 

Lots of baseball action over the weekend; the 18U AAA Canucks were in Swift Current at the Selects Tournament. They were able to go 1-3 with their lone win coming against the Calgary Bisons 7-5. The 15U AAA Canucks also took in a tournament in Regina, in which they played three games going 0-2 with a tie. 

Moose Jaw's U17 AA Ice was in Calgary for a tournament. They went 2-1 before all the games were canceled on Monday due to poor air quality. 

It was a memorable weekend on the golf course for Del Jocelyn. He was able to get his fifth hole-in-one at the Hillcrest Golf Club. He holed out on Hole #5 with his hybrid, which carried 178 yards and then dropped and rolled right in.

The Premier Prairie Classic wrapped up on Sunday with a couple of Moose Jaw teams walking away with some medals. The U15 Boys Tier 1 Spartans squad walked away with a gold medal, while the U13 Spartans finished second in their tier. The U17 Boys Spartans took home silver medals, while the U13 Boys Tier 2 finished third in their division. The tournament featured 73 teams from Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba competing in 11 divisions.

Over the NHL playoffs, the Florida Panthers shut out the Hurricanes 1-0 to take a 3-0 series lead. 

And the Toronto Blue Jays' losing streak extends to five games with a 6-4 loss to Tampa Bay on Monday.
