The Moose Jaw Warriors made two selections in Wednesday's US Priority Draft. With their 16th pick in the first round, they picked defenceman Zachary Schmidt of the Colorado Thunderbirds 14U AAA team. In the second round, they would snag forward Trevor Hill from the San Antonio Jr. Rampage 14U AAA squad. 

Their focus now shifts to the WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday, with the Warriors holding the 16th overall pick in the first round. They also have picks in the second, third, fourth, and eighth rounds. 

In junior lacrosse action over at the Kinsmen Sportsplex, Braxton MacAngus had four goals and eight points for Moose Jaw as they dropped a 14-10 decision to the Regina Barracudas. The Mustangs are back in action on Saturday when they head up to Prince Albert to take in the Predators in a doubleheader.

Moose Jaw's 18U AAA Canucks home-opener against the Swift Current 57's tonight has been cancelled due to rain. The next home game is a double-header on Sunday against the East Central Red Sox. The first game gets underway at noon. 

The Toronto Maple Leafs stayed alive in their second playoffs round series sneaking by the Florida Panthers 2-1 on Wednesday. Also around the league, the Edmonton Oilers tied their series against Vegas with a 4-1 win at home. 

And over to the Blue Jays, they dropped a tough 2-1 decision to the Phillies to wrap up their two-game set.
