Some big news for a couple of Moose Jaw Warriors players. First off, Warriors forward Jagger Firkus signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Seattle Kraken on Thursday. Firkus was selected by Seattle in the second round, 35th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He had 88 points in 66 games during the regular season and then added 21 points in 10 playoff games this year.

In addition, 20-year-old Ryder Korczak had been reassigned to the Hartford Wolfpack of the American Hockey League for the remainder of the season. Korczak notched 69 points in only 48 games this past season. He will join the team, as they kick off their Atlantic Division semi-finals against the Providence Bears on Friday night. 

Brooklyn Nimegeers picked up a goal, as her Regina Rebels rolled to a 7-3 win on Thursday over the Northern Selects at the 2023 Esso Cup. The Rebels have advanced to the semi-finals against the Fraser Valley Rush, which is on Friday night.  Moose Jaw's Jasmine Kohl and the Prince Albert Northern Bears fell 6-1 to the Stoney Creek Sabres. 

Moose Jaw's 18U AAA Canucks fell in their Best of the West Spring Classic opener on Thursday 9-4 to the host Kamloops River Dogs. They are back at it this afternoon against the Cranbrook Bandits. 

In the Western Hockey League, the Eastern Conference Semi-final kicks off on Friday between the Saskatoon Blades and Winnipeg ICE. Out west Kamloops and Seattle get things going on Saturday night. 

In the NHL playoffs, Tampa Bay stays alive against the Leafs winning 4-2 to force a Game 6, the Jet's playoff hopes were crushed losing to Vegas 4-1, and the Devils over their third-straight over the Rangers 4-0. 

And the Blue Jays start a three-game home series against the Seattle Mariners on Friday at the Rogers Centre. The Jays are riding a four-game win streak.
