The deadliest day since the start of the pandemic, as the government of Saskatchewan announced 6 residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

Five individuals were in their 80s and one was in their 30s.

183 new cases were announced as well, with 62 in Saskatoon, 30 in the north-central region, 25 in Regina, 18 in the northwest, 13 in the far northwest, 10 in the far northeast, seven in the central-west, five in the northeast, four in the central-east, four in the south-west, one in the southeast and one in the south-central zone. Three new cases are pending resident information.

The seven-day average of daily new cases is 264, or 21.8 new cases per 100,000 residents.

279 recoveries were also announced, which marks the largest single-day increase in recoveries since the start of the pandemic.

4,663 cases are considered active.

144 people are in hospital, with 117 receiving inpatient care and 27 in intensive care.
