Saskatchewan Polytechnic architecture students will be designing hospitality rooms to enjoy during the Greek Night fundraiser tonight at Mosaic Place.

The students are in their fourth semester and they will be graded on the design of the rooms as part of their course.

“The requirements were to create a bit of a hospitality suite so that people can sit and enjoy different spaces throughout and don't just have to stay at their dining room table,” said instructor Kenda Owens.

This is the second project they have ever done in Moose Jaw and the first time they designed hospitality rooms for an event in the city. Other hospitality rooms they have designed were for Saskatchewan Fashion Week.

All of the spaces for the Greek Night fundraiser will have a design that ties in with the Greek theme. The students worked with several local businesses to help with furnishings and decorations.

“Typically a design school is in the community a lot, and so that's what I wanted to have happen. Once the community kind of got a sense of what our ask was and what we needed from them, they've been really wonderful to deal with,” Owens said.

Tonight’s event, put on by the Moose Jaw Downtown Association and Tourism Moose Jaw, will feature a traditional Greek meal, Greek dancing, plate smashing and entertainment by Arkadia and the Uncoolas.
