Despite a very wide spread campaign, increased fines and penalties, safety blitzes and constant media coverage ,the RCMP are still reporting higher than normal cases of impaired driving in Saskatchewan.

During Road Safety Week May 16th to 22nd, nearly 7800 drivers were were stopped across the province and 177 impaired driving charges were laid.

Officials say the worst was on May 20th, when 36 impaired driving charges and 34 roadside suspensions were issued.
