The Saskatchewan RCMP has closed down the eastbound lanes of Highway #1 just east of Swift Current, due to a grass fire. The highway is closed six kilometres west of Rush Lake to seven kilometres east of Swift Current.

Police say it is unknown how long the lane closure will last. Detours are in place but motorists can expect delays.

There are emergency workers on the scene and visibility may be affected due to smoke, so motorists are asked to slow down in the area.
