Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for areas just south of Moose Jaw.

These areas include Mossbank, Gravelbourg, Assiniboia and Spring Valley.

According to Environment Canada, the Colorado low is tracking north, which is bringing heavy rainfall to south-central and southeastern Saskatchewan beginning Thursday afternoon.

The rain is expected to continue through to Friday before tapering off on Saturday.

Environment Canada is expecting rainfall totals of 40 to 60 millimetres with pockets of higher amounts expected. Localized flooding will be a possibility.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
