We have received some rain over the past week or so, but is it enough to save farmer's crops across the prairies from drought?

Grant McLean with the Ag Knowledge Centre here in Moose Jaw says in some cases it might time to start looking towards next year, "In some cases it may be a lost cause.  I think some fields are certainly beyond the point of reclamation even with moisture.  I think the biggest challenge will be in the pasture and the hay conditions even with some areas that did receive moisture a couple weeks back it takes a certain amount of time for those perennial crops to recover."

How are we doing in the Moose Jaw area, "I think in a large portion of the province we've had lower then average percipitation and that's been a change for a significant portion of Western Canada.  Moose Jaw in particular hasn't been as handicapped as some areas particularly west of Moose Jaw."

McLean says farmers in the Kindersley area have been hardest hit and even with rain them and many others around the province may not be able to save their crops this year.
