He said he wasn't sure if it came in time.  His crops were in and his land was dry.  However, he said he went away for a week after the rain in June and when he came home, his crops were up and now they're thriving.

I listened to a couple of local area farmers chewing the fat at the Moose Jaw post office yesterday.  They're happy.  That's a good thing.

You'll remember how cool and dry it was this spring.  We went through March and April with limited precipitation and we got just 3.5 mm in and around Moose Jaw in May.

Well, since then, we've collected about 140 mm of rain through June and the first half of July.  That's over 5 and-a-half inches in 6 weeks.

We all know if our local agriculture industry thrives, the local economy does the same.  I'd say we're in pretty good shape.  Thank goodness.  Thanks to Mother Nature.
