Chiefs from across the province gather in Swift Current to talk shop and swap ideas on how to curb the influx of gangs in Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Association of Chiefs of Police is getting together to talk about crime and how to attack it in Swift Current this week. The two-day conference gives the senior officers a chance to exchange ideas and learn the latest in crime fighting strategies.

Moose Jaw Police Chief Terry Coleman says organized crime is a major issue right now and the chiefs will be learning more about tracking dirty money. "Its very important to us of course when we were dealing with organized crime. I'm sad to say that organized crime is alive and well in Saskatchewan so knowing something of the tracking of the proceeds of crime and working together is important to all of us."

The chiefs will also talk about the National Road Safety Vision. The goal of it is to reduce the number of injuries and fatalities on our highways.
