Coke, crack, blow, and nose candy. No matter what you call it, cocaine is becoming a bigger problem in the "Friendly City."

It's very dangerous and highly addictive. It ruins families and it ruins people. And, it's happening right here in Moose Jaw.

Cocaine. It's a problem in the Friendly City.

Moose Jaw police seized some cocaine and charged a young man with trafficking on Tuesday night. Police Chief Terry Coleman very pleased with the result of the undercover operation. "We have information, and have had for some time, that cocaine is reasonably prevalent in our community and unfortunately we're getting information that its even being found in our high schools so its a great concern to us. Cocaine isn't a cash crop for Saskatchewan farmers; it comes from overseas and its evidence of organized crime in our community.

A 21 year old man by the name of Chad Barre is in custody and charged with 3 counts of trafficking cocaine after police seized about 800 dollars worth of the drug. He remains in custody.

Coleman admits the amount seized is not that much. "It represented three fairly small buys but it's significant in the sense that we have members of an aboriginal gang trafficking in our community."
