The "review" of Ecole Ross School is underway after a meeting Monday night with the School Community Council in Moose Jaw.

They don't want to lose their school and that message was very clear Monday night.

Parents who have children attending Moose Jaw's Ross School met with the Prairie South School Board Monday night. Ross is one of 7 Prairie South schools that are under review right now as the Board faces a huge deficit.

Grade 8 student Kelsey Fedyk is President of the Ross School S.R.C. "I don’t think that there would be any other school that anybody would want to go to because it's snobby rich kids at every other school. This seems to be the only school that you can go to without having your possessions or where you live or what kind of clothes you wear not being judged."

Melonie Karmarznuk was one of the parents who took part and says there is one glaring question that needs to be answered. "I'm wondering, if they close the school, where are they going to send our kids? This is very important to the community and if they start busing our kids all over the city the kids won't even know the kids that live two doors down. Nobody is sure where everything stands."

Janice Hoffman shares those concerns and says the north east community revolves around Ross School. "It's very important because its the only school on this side of the tracks and this side of Main Street that is a grade school otherwise they're crossing two main arteries to get to a school system."

The Prairie South Board has one more meeting, Tuesday night in their review process and that's in Chaplin.
