Over 3700 barrels of oil spew into a slew near Glenavon, Saskatchewan Sunday after an Enbridge crude oil pipe bursts.

An oil spill here in Saskatchewan has clean up crews hustling to contain the impact on the environment. The spill near Glenavon was detected Sunday night on one of Enbridge's crude oil pipelines.

The line transports heavy and medium crude oil from Edmonton to Wisconsin. 600 cubic metres was spilled and that works out to over 37 hundred barrels. Almost half of it is already cleaned up, according to spokesperson Gina Gottenberg. "This location is a low lying area in a field... there are no immediate concerns for the safety individuals or residents in the area. This recovery will continue until they can gather up as much of the free product as possible and then every effort will be under taken to restore the site to its original condition."

The investigation into the cause of the rupture continues near the community south east of Regina.
