Randy Boehmer has been acquitted of the manslaughter charge laid against him in connection to the death of Sarah St. Pierre in 2004.

He's a free man walking down the street just like you and me, but just a few hours ago, he was on trial for manslaughter. Randy Boehmer has been acquitted of the charge against him relating to the death of Sara St. Pierre.

During the judgement, Madame Justice McMurtry stated the Crown's key witness was "inconsistent" with her testimony.

That was a major blow to the case against Boehmer and Crown Prosecutor Brian Hendrickson agreed. "There is a 30 day appeal period but an appeal would be based on an error in law. I did not hear an error, obviously I want to read the judgement but she did a good job... There were problems in Mrs. Hubbard's evidence and she pointed them out."

While a drug overdose in 2005 has been blamed for St. Pierre's death, the family of St. Pierre is left wondering exactly what happened to cause their loved one to die.

We asked Defence Attorney Pat Reis if Boehmer can move on with his life now that a decision has been made. "I think he can because he knows in his own heart what happened on the date of Ms. St Pierre's death."
