Coming to a new country with a family, it can be a challenge to find the proper school supplies for your children.

That’s why the Moose Jaw Newcomer Welcome Centre is holding a school supply drive until Aug. 25.

Melissa Mitchell, Program Manager of Moose Jaw Newcomers Centre, outlined some of the supplies that they're looking for.

“We're looking for zip-up binders in a used or new condition as long as it’s gently used, running shoes in all different sizes gently used or new. And then, of course, the typical things like pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters, glue sticks, and loose-leaf paper,” she said.

All of the supplies can be dropped off at the Moose Jaw Newcomer Welcome Centre at 432 Main St. N.

“We want to make sure that they're all set up for the school season in any capacity is incredibly helpful,” Mitchell said.

The Newcomer Welcome Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
