After a bit of a delay, street line painting is expected to begin next week.

Moose Jaw's director of engineering Bevan Harlton says they'll be using a new type of paint this year.

"We've done a nice shift this year changing the content of the paint. It's a more solvent-based paint which I'm happy about because it will have a longer street life or shelf life. We've closed that tender, procured the item. We've confirmed that our existing equipment can run it."

Harlton says Streets and Roads Supervisor Jason Trzaskowski was in Regina last week to look at their processes.

The change of paint has delayed line painting by about three weeks.

The issue was raised by Councillor Jamey Logan at this week's city council meeting.
