13 city mayors gathered to talk about funding with Premier Lorne Calvert Tuesday as most communities face massive tax increases due to insufficient funding.

Premier Lorne Calvert didn't commit any big money but he did make a commitment to Saskatchewan cities.

13 city mayors from across Saskatchewan gathered in Regina Tuesday to meet with the Premier and his caucus. "They understand that we are building a budget and they put that request in the context of what we are doing to build that spring budget."

Saskatchewan cities, including Moose Jaw, are asking for a better revenue sharing deal with the province and some money for infrastructure.

Moose Jaw Mayor Dale McBain believes they got their point across. "The Premier and the Cabinet listened to us, heard us, they understood what we were saying and they recognized the need for a long range plan."

Saskatchewan cities are all facing projected tax increases of 10 to 15% if the federal and provincial governments don't contribute more.
