35 youth soccer teams will take over Moose Jaw's Smith Park this weekend.

The south hill soccer pitches are the site of Moose Jaw Soccer's 2nd annual Ron Bader Classic tournament.

"We were looking to get a big, outdoor tournament for our local players," explained Moose Jaw Soccer's John Shurniak. "We go to a lot of tournaments (away from Moose Jaw) so we thought it would be a good opportunity to host one.  We're very happy to host it again."

Shurniak says the tournament will feature teams from the U8 division through U16, with Moose Jaw fielding seven squads.

"Most (of the others teams) are from Regina and Weyburn..and we do have a Yorkton team, so they would be the furthest away."

Action begins Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and continues all day Saturday, with playoffs starting Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

And, if you want to watch some of the action?

"Everything is taking place at Smith Park (Warner St. and 13th Avenue SW near Sacred Heart school)," says Shurniak. "Gate entry is $5 for the day or $10 for the weekend, but free for those playing or anyone 18 years of age or under."
