And the award goes to...Moose Jaw!

The Saskatchewan Economic Developers Alliance (SEDA) recently presented our Notorious City with the 2020 Marketing Innovation Award thanks in large part to the 'Moose War' with Norway.

Moose Jaw saw approximately $7 million dollars in additional tourism revenue thanks to the good-natured feud.

“SEDA’s annual awards provide an opportunity to celebrate Saskatchewan success stories,” said Verona Thibault, CEO of SEDA. “Mac the Moose versus Norway is a wonderful example of a grassroots communications initiative that leveraged a local asset."

Mayor Fraser Tolmie congratulated those involved.

"I'd like to thanks our communications director and our economic development officer for the hard work that they've done. I'd also like to acknowledge our Council and Tourism Moose Jaw for their hard work in getting this award."

SEDA says that the widespread international attention helped bring an outpouring of local and provincial pride in our City.
