The first adult dodgeball event was a huge success, despite the brutal blizzard that came that night.

28 people were in attendance and Organizer for Moose Jaw Adult Dodgeball, Kayla Triffo, hopes to see even more friendly faces for the second event.

“We changed our venue and date,” says Triffo. “Instead of doing Monday, December 5th, we’re going to change it to Saturday, December 10th. The time will be from 3:30 [pm] to 5:30 [pm], and again, it’s at Sask Polytech [Gymnasium].”

The second event is completely free for anyone over the age of 18, and no experience is needed. The only requirement is gym shoes; Knee pads and water bottles are optional.

Triffo says that they plan on having provincial players and members of the Saskatchewan dodgeball community there to help coach this time, however, their attendance is weather-permitting since they have to travel to and from places around the province.

MJ Adult Dodgeball is currently in the works of getting registration up and running for their MJ Adult Dodgeball League powered by Golden Ticket Sports Centre.

“We are planning to do the first week of February,” Triffo explains. “We got pushed back a little bit because [Golden Ticket Sports Centre] is in renovation... We will be doing a couple more drop-in events in January, and we should have registration open in the next couple of weeks, for that first week of February.”

Organizers are also in the works of starting a ladies' night for girls who may not want to play with men.

“I know that some ladies are kind of hesitant about trying, or maybe they just want to play with women, so just stay tuned for that on our Facebook page. We’re securing a facility and date, and that night will be run by ladies, and we’ll teach the fundamentals of dodgeball and some skills... We’re hoping in the first couple of weeks in January.”
