Conservatives, Liberals, Bloc, NDP, and others return to Ottawa as the first day of the Fall Sitting begins and focuses on the future of Canada.

Results for Canadians based on accountability and democratic reform, economic management and value for money, environment and personal health and crime and national security.

Local Member of Parliament Dave Batters says those are the priorities for the Conservative government during the fall session of parliament. "We have our 4 main pillars that we're going to focus on which we believe are in step with the wishes of Canadians and in keeping with the mandate that we were given this year with the election and we're just going to keep getting things done for Canadians and tax payers."

Two major topics during the first days of parliament have been the military operations in Afghanistan and the school shootings in Montreal.
