Golfers in Moose Jaw are putting away their clubs for another season.

Lynbrook Golf Club, one of Saskatchewan's oldest golf courses, closed its doors last weekend.

General Manager Ray Wareham looked back on the past season.

"We got a little bit of a late start this year with the weather. Last year we opened the range April 1. This year we didn't really open up until April 29th so we kind of lost a month there but it's been steady and good. The last few years here have been really good. We've had over 25,000 rounds of golf here this year so we're pretty happy."

Wareham was pleased with the course conditions this past season.

"You're living in Saskatchewan, you get your windy days but our maintenance crew does a good job of keeping the course in good shape. Lots of compliments from out-of-town people on how good of shape the course was in and the members obviously are complimenting it all the time so it was a good year....This was one of the better years we've had for greens. We had some winter damage in the past and it came back this year."

One change this season saw the tee boxes moved back on Hole #12 to make it a par 5.

Wareham notes they had over 350 memberships this past year which is a bit of an increase. Included in that number is 64 junior memberships which is up slightly.

Lynbrook Golf Club hosted 18 tournaments this year including club tournaments, the club championship and some outside tournaments as well.

Crews are now busy winterizing the course for the cold winter months ahead.
