Want to help a less fortunate child have a brighter Christmas this year?

Monkey Bars Indoor Play Centre in the Town ‘n’ Country Mall is once again partnering with Moose Jaw Family Services to put on the Kids Miracle Tree to help buy Christmas presents for children in need.

Joey Russell, the owner and operator of Monkey Bars Indoor Play Centre, talked about why she puts this on each year.

“It's a charity we feel very, very strongly about, especially around Christmastime. We've always personally wanted to give less fortunate families just a brighter Christmas. So again, we've decided to partner with Moose Jaw Family Services,” she said.

A tree will be put up at Monkey Bars with tags hanging on it. Each tag will have the age, gender and interests. People can pick a tag, buy an appropriate gift and return it to Monkey Bars where it will be taken Moose Jaw Family Services to be distributed.

This year there are about 70 children that will need gifts, a high number compared to years past, but it didn’t come as a surprise considering the pandemic.

“I think it's caused a lot of obstacles for families and a lot of hardship, so we want to try and give back to the community the best way we can and Christmas is always a great opportunity to do that and show our families that we appreciate them,” Russell said.

The tree will be going up at Monkey Bars Indoor Play Centre this weekend.
