Nearly 15 thousand tourists register at the Information Centre this summer alone helping to boost the local economy.

Thousands of tourists experience our city each and every year. Moose Jaw is one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in Saskatchewan with more that $46.5 million spent here by visitors during their stay.

Tourism Moose Jaw released some encouraging tourism numbers from the summer that revealed 14,903 visitors registered at the Tourist Information Centre between May and August of this year.

Tourism Moose Jaw Executive Director, Wendy Forsberg tells us location has been key to their success. "We've increased our visibility along Highway #1 and we went and put up some additional signage to direct people to the visitors centre. When people are coming to the visitor's centre we can help them figure out what they want to do in Moose Jaw. Some people are just stopping to use the bathrooms and then they stop and ask us questions and we can help keep them here in Moose Jaw rather than them continuing on down the highway."

An estimated 319,000 people visit Moose Jaw each year.
