Saskatchewan's electrical crown utility asking for more money.

SaskPower spokesperson Larry Christie tells us they have applied to the Rate Review Panel for a 4.3 percent increase. "We're having to replace aging power lines and power plants, much of our electrical system was built in the 1960's and late 50's, the rising costs of materials and supplies here in western Canada, gasoline, cost of steel, and things like that are affecting businesses and projects everywhere."

The increase would see the average urban customer pay 3 dollars more a month, while rural customers would pay an extra 6.
