The Gala Event of the Year is taking place later this month in the curling rink at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

The Festival of Trees is back in person this year on Saturday.

This year's theme is Making Spirits Bright - Celebrating Together Again.

"We have the biggest and best live auction anywhere. It has such a Moose Jaw flavour to it. We have everything from the incredible tree displays to trips to pieces of exquisite artwork all auctioned off, all benefitting the patients at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital," said Moose Jaw Health Foundation Executive Director Kelly McElree. "The most amazing thing, and what makes the festival so special, is it's created entirely by the people of Moose Jaw. It's raised millions of dollars over the years to help our hospital. We would not have the facility we have without the support from everyone that comes."

The Festival will feature a plated meal created and cooked by Top Chef Canada Dale MacKay. Dale is an award-winning internationally recognized chef. Besides winning Top Chef Canada, Dale and his team own the Grassroots Restaurant Group that have won numerous accolades for where to eat in Canada featuring restaurants in both Regina and Saskatoon.

Following the meal and grand live auction featuring trees, trips and local craftsmanship, guests will dance the night away with music by Rock Candy back by popular demand.

Funds raised will stay in Moose Jaw to help patients requiring surgery and laboratory services at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.
