With the warmer weather, BBQ season is now on.

Pat Inglis Food Safety Information Officer shares this advice when it comes to shopping for meal items for the BBQ.

"If you are buying frozen food or you are buying refrigerated fresh meat or poultry or fish, you want to keep that cold so make that selection at the end of your circuit of the grocery store. If you are going to be more than an hour between the grocery store and your home, take a cooler and put some ice in it."

Inglis adds that way you keep your food out of the Danger Zone where bacteria multiply fastest.
