A Moose Jaw provincial politician says the NDP are holding off their election call as they wait to see what happens on the national level.

 

Is a federal election on the way?

Local provincial politicians seem to think so as Moose Jaw North MLA Glenn Hagel commented that the Harper government could fall this spring when they deliver their budget. Hagel made the comment when asked about a possible Saskatchewan spring election saying the Premier didn't want to double up.

A recent poll even has the Conservatives in a dead heat with the Liberals when it comes to voter support. Palliser Conservative Member of Parliament Dave Batters. "These polls go up and they go down... but remember they (the Liberals) don't have a leader to put up against Prime Minister Harper. You're looking at either Michael Ignatieff, who has spent his last 30 years in the United States, or Bob Rae who absolutely decimated the economy of Ontario when he was Premier of that province."

But not to ignore the issue, Batters says the Conservatives are always ready to head to the polls.
