The Wheatland Conservation Area held their annual field day Thursday in conjunction with Saskatchewan Agriculture, Pioneer Coop, and the Saskatchewan Mustard Development Commission.

Wheatland’s Farm Manager Bryan Nybo says the combined event attracted about 90 people including farmers and area agronomists.

Wheatland works on a variety of ADOPT projects, as well as trials with industry, commodity groups, AAFC, and others.

The Wheatland tour included information on seeding rate trials for durum and canola, fertility for malt vs feed barley trials, a Kochia control and management project, winter wheat demonstration as well as a Pioneer Co-op durum variety and canola fertility trial.

The Mustard Tour included a mustard variety trial as well as A-A-C’s Brown Hybrid seeding and fertility trials.
