A course catalogue for the new Saskatchewan Distance Learning Corporation’s (Sask DLC) virtual school is now available online.

More than 180 courses will be offered online for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students, including over 120 high school courses. Some of the more unique courses include animation, astronomy, paleontology, IT fundamentals, equine studies, and interior design and decorating.

Students with questions about the courses or access to local support can contact Sask DLC which will work with local school divisions to meet those needs.

Sask DLC is also accepting applications from separate school divisions and independent schools for courses they may want to offer online for K-12 students. The Ministry of Education says it will work with the applicants to ensure the courses meet a quality assurance framework. Successful applicants will be notified in April by the Ministry of Education.

Staffing for the Sask DLC’s main office and regional campuses will begin this month. The main office will be located in Kenaston with regional offices Moose Jaw, Estevan, La Ronge, Neilburg, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Swift Current and Yorkton.
