Many Moose Jaw residents were woken up to or couldn’t sleep due to a very loud noise in the northwest side of Moose Jaw early on Tuesday morning.

The loud noise was the horn of a stationary CP Rail train at the 9th Avenue Northwest and High Street West railway crossing.

The horn echoed across the west side of the city between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

A spokesperson with CP Rail says that the prolonged disturbance was caused by a “mechanical issue” within the train.

The spokesperson could not provide any further details on what caused the horn to malfunction.

Discover Moose Jaw has put in a request to CP Rail for more details but at the time of publishing has yet to get a response.
