UPDATE: Emergency crews leave scene following early afternoon fire

Emergency crews have left the scene of the Travelodge, which was the location of an early afternoon fire on Friday. Athabasca St E near the hotel has reopened to traffic.

Discover Moose Jaw has received reports of a fire at the Travelodge on 45 Athabasca St E.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department, Moose Jaw Police Service and EMS are on the scene of a fire battling the blaze. 

The MJPS has closed off Athabasca St E, near the Travelodge, and officers are directing traffic. It is recommended to avoid the area while emergency crews are at the scene.
