Canadian Pacific's (CP) Holiday Train will be rolling into downtown Moose Jaw Tuesday afternoon (Dec 6).

The train will pull into the CP Station in Downtown Moose Jaw around 4:30 pm with its spectacular lights and musical performances by Canadian country music artist Tenille Townes and Toronto-based Oji-Cree Singer Songwriter Aysanabee.

"I've been hearing about it for years and always thought it would be such a cool thing to get and go and do," said Townes. "The opportunity came up this year...I'm so excited to get to play in all of these wonderful places that the train goes and we'll just be there with a little holiday music to hopefully lift everybody's spirits and get us in the Christmas mood. I'm really looking forward to it."

In conjunction with the Holiday Train, the Moose Jaw Co-op is asking for the public's help to stock the shelves of the local food bank with their annual Good-Buy to Hunger Campaign.

Co-op's Michaela Turner explained how it works.

"You buy a $10 bag at the Moose Jaw Co-op Food Store. We do all the work, keep it pretty simple. We compile all the bags of food and make pallets and pallets of food that we ship over to the food bank to stock their shelves for, not only the holiday season, but for the coming months."

People are also asked to bring a cash donation or non-perishable food item on December 6 when they come out for the Holiday Train.

The food drive wraps up on December 16.
