A children's hospital in Saskatoon, a day surgery centre for Regina, Swift Current's new hospital is now running, but still no word on when the Moose Jaw Union Hospital will be upgraded.

More pressure from the City of Moose Jaw, as our City Councillors want answers from the provincial government when it comes to the expansion to the Union Hospital.

The project has been on the table for a number of years and the city is ready to move forward, but with the recent announcement of a day surgery unit for Regina many councillors have been left wondering, when is Moose Jaw's project going ahead?

Councillor Darin Chow admits Moose Jaw has a number of projects on the go right now but the hospital has always been at the top of the list. "We clearly have a number of priorities but I think the community was quite clear when we implemented a tax levy specifically earmarked for the expansion to the hospital. I don't know how much clearer we could be. Frankly as a community we are ready to proceed but it’s the provincial counter parts that don't seem to be in a position to see the matter move forward at this time."

Council passed a motion last night requesting a meeting with the Health Minister, our local MLA's, as well as the Premier to find out where the project stands.
