The city is letting residents know that the ongoing concrete project at Avens Roads will soon be moving to paving and other projects downtown are getting underway.

Avens Road is expected to be completed this week with paving of the roadway to follow. The paving is expected to be completed the week of June 19, weather permitting. The road will be closed to traffic during paving and homeowners in the area are advised to park on adjacent streets.

Concrete demolition began this week on Athabasca Street West from Second Avenue to Fifth Avenue. The project will be completed in two phases, starting with the concrete demolition. Paving will occur in about six weeks.

Bus routes on Athabasca Street will be impacted during this project and alternative routes have been arranged. More details can be found on the city’s website or the transit feature on the City of Moose Jaw app.

Contractors will be paving Brigham Road during the week of June 5, weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to obey all traffic signage and use caution in construction zones.
