The provincial corporation charged us 100 million dollars too much last year and are making amends by issuing cheques this spring.

For the second year in a row they took in too much money from us.

SGI will be sending out rebates of about 180 dollars per vehicle in April after they collected 100 million dollars too much in premiums.

Last year we received rebates as well after too much money was collected in vehicle insurance premiums. As a result Minister Responsible Glenn Hagel says they are reviewing their rates. "The premiums that we are receiving are more than is necessary to provide the stabilization that we need and that's being returned. It also means that we are asking for a rate reduction through the Rate Review Panel and proposing that there be a rate reduction of a total of 5 percent that would go into affect July 1st."

But only 50 per cent of us will see a reduction to our premiums, a third will see an increase, while the rest will see no change at all.
