The people of Moose Jaw took to the streets from May 9-15 for Community Clean-Up Week.

The #CleanUpMJ event on May 15 was a huge success, with approximately 90 volunteers and over 120 bags of garbage collected.

Mayor Clive Tolley says it brought the community together. "We had a good section of people young and old from throughout the city go down to the Co-op and get some bags and gloves and then went out and picked up garbage all over the city."

The mayor also highlighted the community BBQ after the garbage pick up, where volunteers could get a hamburger and drink courtesy of the Moose Jaw Co-op.

“We’re thrilled, but not surprised at the high level of participation from Moose Javians who took time to clean up our city,” said Tolley. “On behalf of our City Council, thank you to the City’s Community Clean Up committee, the Moose Jaw Co-op, Burns & McDonnell, Co-op Ethanol Complex, Moose Jaw Bobcat and everyone else who played a role in helping make Moose Jaw #NotoriouslyClean. Let’s remember to not litter and keep our city beautiful.”
