A slight uptick in confirmed cases and a static test positivity rate were among the notables in the latest weekly COVID-19 briefing from the province.

The new numbers showed that there 895 new confirmed cases for the week of March 13-19. There were 832 confirmed cases the week previous.

The test positivity rate stayed about the same. The weekly test positivity rate for March 13-19 was 11.7 per cent, similar to the previous week, though there were also more tests conducted.

There were also 33 newly reported COVID-19 deaths, which was up from the 28 deaths that were reported the week prior.

Hospitalizations also went up slightly. There were 306 hospitalizations as of March 23. There were 299 hospitalizations as of March 16.

There were also 10 confirmed COVID-19 outbreaks in long-term care homes from March 13-19.
