Carnie's Comments

There we were, 36 years ago in the summer of 1986, getting prepared to kick-start what we both hoped would be a rewarding career in radio.  36 years later, there we were, Barrie Vice and I, on CTV-Regina, talking to Wayne Mantyka about CHAB's 100th anniversary.  And what a pleasure it was.

In case you missed it, one of the most highly respected TV reporters in Saskatchewan history treated us to a visit on Friday.  We're sharing his piece about us on the CHAB Facebook page today.

If I could have chosen a reporter to tell our story it would have been Wayne Mantyka.

We shared some vintage audio and photos of days gone by, we shared some personal memories and, of course, we shared some laughs.

You know Wayne was the last guy at CTV to use tape for his audio.  Guess who the last guy was to do the same here?  Yes, it was me.

And, as I reflected on my Friday afternoon later that day, it struck me that between Wayne, Barrie and I, we have over 120 years of experience in this business.

And, suddenly I felt about the same age as the radio station!
